1. Overview

RewriteMe ("we", "us", "our"), operated by Pegrio LLC, is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website at rewriteme.app and our resume optimization services.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and password (stored as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google.

Resume Content: When you upload a resume, we store the original text and the AI-improved version. This content is used solely to provide you with our optimization service.

Intake Interview Answers: If you complete our intake interview, we store your answers (contact info, work history details, skills) to personalize your resume rewrite.

Payment Information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details. We receive your email address and payment confirmation from Stripe.

Usage Data: We collect basic analytics data including pages visited, features used, and browser information to improve our service. This is collected through Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics — see sections 7 and 8 for the cookies and third parties involved.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve our resume optimization service
  • To process payments and deliver your optimized resume
  • To send delivery emails with your download link
  • To communicate about your account or orders
  • To improve our AI prompts and service quality (using anonymized, aggregated data only)

4. What We Do NOT Do

  • We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties
  • We do NOT share your resume content with other users
  • We do NOT use your resume content to train AI models
  • We do NOT send marketing emails unless you opt in
  • We do NOT store your payment card details

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers provided by Supabase (PostgreSQL) and Vercel. All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Authentication tokens are stored as HTTP-only, secure cookies.

6. Data Retention

Account content is retained until account deletion. Guest order content is retained until a verified deletion request; contact contact@rewriteme.app from the purchase email for help. Download links expire after 7 days, which does not itself erase stored order content. Provider backups and payment records follow their separate retention policies.

Deleting your account. You can do this yourself at any time: sign in and go to Settings → Account → "Delete My Account Permanently". Once any paid processing finishes, deletion erases your login, account resumes, generated order documents and download links. Guest purchases with the same email are included only when your account email is verified. It cannot be undone. If you can no longer sign in, or you would rather we do it for you, email contact@rewriteme.app.

One exception: if you have made a purchase, we keep the order and payment record itself, because tax and payment-dispute rules require it. We remove the customer name, delivery email, source resume, intake answers, AI output and generated files from those orders. Transaction identifiers remain for payment reconciliation; they may still be linked to records held by the payment provider.

8. Cookies & Analytics

Essential: One cookie ("token") keeps you signed in. It is HTTP-only and secure, and the site cannot authenticate you without it.

Analytics: We run Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-DG7CP94EH4) on every page. It sets first-party analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) that give your browser a random identifier so we can see how many people visit, which pages they use, and where they drop off. We also use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights for traffic and page-performance measurement.

We do not run advertising or ad-retargeting cookies, we do not use these cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell the data they produce. But the analytics cookies above are still tracking cookies, so we say so plainly rather than claiming we set none.

We do not currently show a cookie-consent banner. If you do not want analytics cookies, you can block them in your browser settings, use a tracker-blocking extension, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking them does not affect your ability to use the service.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your resume data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing

10. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for individuals under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
